"The images were ghostly. We took one of the most commercial spaces on earth and transformed it for a few moments, into a silent, holy place. The solemn choreographed ritual somehow commanded a respectful silence without asking for it. Sometimes you can communicate more without a sound, as a dancer, I live in that realm. It was intended to hit deeper than politics... expressionism hoping to elicit empathy... seeing so many outlines made people catch their breath and stop."

As artists we have the responsibility to create work that elicits a response... empathy, introspection. A first step toward changing attitudes. Join me and Broadway artists on February 24th, to leave a mark...literally.
See you there,

Meet for rehearsal at
Roy Arias Studios
300 W 43rd Street
We will gather and partner up at a midtown location, then meet in Times Square and freeze frame with our hands in the air... then slowly sink to the ground perfectly in sync. Quickly we'll trace each other's body outline with chalk and write a word or statistic inside the body chalk line...a victim's age, a name, 'enough', 'gun', 20,000 deaths, etc Then we'll walk away leaving a visceral, expressionistic, literary reminder of lives lost... Please pass to friends and please join us. Meet at 12:00 pm on Feb 24th at Roy Arias Studios, 300 West 43rd Street for rehearsal and exact time and place. Will happen before 2pm that afternoon.

If you plan on being a part of the event, please RSVP by email tp rsvp@artammo.org
